Portland, OR
Czopek & Erdenberger was invited by the American Institute of Architects Steering Committee to provide input on the interior planning and design for this new $2 million, 5,500 sf central facility for the Portland chapter as it relocated its offices into a vacated one story historic building in the Pearl District. C&E worked with the design team to provide offices, training space, classroom, and conference facilities in a truly sustainable example of small building renovation. The final project was awarded LEED Platinum accreditation.
One of the strategies for sustainability in this facility was to plan multi-use spaces that could be adapted over time. A large exhibit area which could also be used for gatherings, meetings and a variety of class sizes and types was planned using furniture that is mobile and easily reconfigured. Office furniture is GreenGuard-certified, flexible and ergonomic.
